History

Motoscope Performance Specialists was founded in 1972, by Dave Owen, under the trading name Motoscope Rally Equipment. The business moved to our present location in 1989, as part of an expansion programme. In February 2004, Dave sold the company to Richard Pocklington.  The company is now trading under the name of Motoscope (Northallerton) Ltd. Richard has been working at Motoscope for 10 years. Richard is a local lad, and has a passion for Motorsport.

Profile

We specialise in Fast Road and Track Day applications, whilst retaining our Motorsport Department. We look after several customers' cars, including our own Grp A Ford Puma (based on a Grp A Ford Escort) and Ford MkI & MkII Escorts. Customers cars that we look after include the second Grp A Ford Puma,  Ford Mk1 Escort Historic Rally Car, Ford MkII Rally Cars and a Renault 5 Turbo Race Car.

Our unique blend of product availability and technical back up make us the ultimate in next generation performance accessories.  Our specialist showroom is stocked with a huge range of performance parts and our experienced sales team are on hand, ready to share their extensive product knowledge to help you make the right choices.

For our Mail Order customers, our Despatch Department is committed to ensuring prompt delivery to your door.

We offer full workshop facilities, where our skilled technicians can provide an unrivalled professional fitting service on all parts we supply, and often While-U-Wait.  If your car needs servicing or mechanical repairs why not try us.  We have the latest equipment and our skilled technicians can ensure that your car receives the very best of care and attention.

We also have a rolling road that lets us simulate actual driving situations, by putting your car's engine under varying loads, and allowing the fuelling along with the ignition timing to be plotted throughout the full RPM range.  Time on the rollers can optimise ignition timing and fuel efficiency as well as improving power whilst also keeping emissions low.  This facility is not usually available at most other car service outlets, so next time your car needs tuning, bring it to Motoscope and let our experts restore it to its optimum state of health.  Motoscope service and repair all types of cars and we are also happy to service light commercial vehicles.  So, whatever you drive let us keep it in fine working order for you!
